Manuel Gonima was a Spanish composer of the eighteenth century, associated with the cathedral of Girona. He was born, it is believed, around 1712, and died in Girona in February 1792, probably on the 26th or the 7th.

He trained with Pablo Llina in Barcelona. In 1733 he unsuccessfully sought the post of maestro de capilla at Vic, and two years later he obtained that of Girona, which he held until his death. In 1774 he handed over the most demanding parts of his output to Francisco Juncá, although he continued to compose.

His output embraces the genres of sacred music in Latin and several villancicos in Castilian. He is considered balanced and restrained for his time, with a command of the fugue and counterpoint and effective orchestration.
