Giovanni Battista Lampugnani was an Italian writer active between 1690 and 1698, author of libretti for musical drama and oratorio. His name is linked to European courts, although his life is known only in broad outline.

Between 1690 and 1696 he was in Warsaw in the service of the nuncio Andrea Santa Croce, and in 1697 he was in Vienna. In 1698 he was listed in London as correspondent of the Tuscan court, a post which, it seems, he had held since 1693. He was probably a relative of another Giovanni Battista Lampugnani, a point that has not been confirmed.

He composed the drammi per musica Per goder in amor ci vuol costanza (1691) and Amor vuol il giusto (1694), and the oratorios Il transito di San Casimiro (1695) and La caduta d'Aman (1697).
